NOT A FEMINISTS ART SHOW!
A group of sixteen artists will be exhibiting a diverse collection of work that focuses on the "fairer gender" without using the "female" word. A wide range of media from painting, sculpture, video and photography will ensure an exciting and eclectic mixture of work. This exhibition aims to offer a platform for discussion for a variety of questions such as: How are contemporary artists portraying women in a post-feminist society? CREWEL STORIES
Exhibition by Aya Haidar. Using recycled materials, fabric, paper, fibre and making these discarded materials useful again, Aya Haidar weaves narratives and adds layers of meaning to the new objects she makes from what is wasted. LOCAL COLOUR
Paintings and works on paper by Katrina Blannin. This recent work aims to convey various sensations corresponding with the everyday impressions of experience and begins with a 'colour chart' of colours directly drawn from the 'nature' of life or the 'locale'.
